4th of July

This year I of course stayed home with sweet baby G and Landon took Mr T with the clan out rafting. From what I heard Mr T had a blast but was definitely ready to return home. Paca said it was the coldest 4th of July he has ever known and though despite splash jackets and wet suits they all froze on the river. It didn't deter them enough however and they still made 2 to 3 runs a day...have I ever mentioned how crazy my family is...the die hards.
Daddy took Mr. T fishing and luckily he never caught anything, uncle Ty showed him the fish he caught and gave it to him to hold and the slime left on his hands was just to much for him. He really enjoys the casting and reeling part of fishing.
Fireworks were not a fear this year and he quite enjoyed himself as everyone lit them off of the bridge, oh and sparklers are pretty cool too.
He was so dirty when they got home I made him go strait to the bath, he didn't seem to mind and spent about an hour in there with his toys.
Again another successful memory filled forth.

Happy Fathers Day!

Happy Fathers Day to all the Daddy's out there. Especially to the father of my children. I'm so lucky to have Landon in my life, he's my best friend and I wish we could spend more time together. Good thing we have eternity, right? He does so much for others and in a good way has a hard time telling people "no", so he rarely does. We are lucky to have that can of a man in our home, he is such a wonderful example to us. Thanks Dad for being the best Dad for us. We love you!

Gretchen Anne Lybbert

SHE'S HERE!!!

We welcomed (with Landon assisting the Doc. with delivery) our daughter Gretchen Anne Lybbert into this world on Monday June 14th 2010 at 5:15pm. She also weighed in at 5.15lb and was 18 inches long. I know, our girl is a giant. Seriously though she is doing great and her pediatrician "can't find anything wrong with baby Gretchen" and neither can we, she is perfect.

Thatcher just adores her and can't stop saying little sighs of "oooh" every time he see's her and "she's so tiny mom", "she's so cute", "she has tiny feet", "she has tiny hands", he really loves holding "baby Gretchen" and smiles and giggles a lot.

She is five days old today and we just can't get enough of her.

I love both of my children and am so blessed to be their mother.

Kodiak Concrete Lifting LLC

Landon has started a new business adventure, he's been working hard to get it all to come together. He's been very busy and we don't see him as much anymore but we are so proud of him and Thatcher loves to ride in Daddy's BIG truck. So everyone needs to spread the word and his website www.spokaneconcretelifting.com. Here is some of his handy work.

I love being a Mommy!

This was my mothers day flower Thatch made for me in Nursery. He's such a sweety, he even picked off the top of Grammies tomato plant and gave it to me the other day. Grammie didn't think it was do sweet however. But he is always picking me little flowers "look mom pretty flowers". He is growing up so fast and anticipating the arrival of his little sister. He always says "baby Gretchen play me?" and "when baby Gretchen come out, I hold her?" or "she hold my hand?" I don't think he realizes how much of a change and impact is coming but I don't think I do either.

I'm dilated to 1 and still have 4 weeks to go, have my 4th ultra sound tomorrow to make sure things are looking ok. I have had so many extra Doctor and specialist apt this time around just as precautions so it's been a little nutty but better to be safe than sorry.

Shoes

These are just a few of the moments captured of Mr. T and his desire to wear other peoples shoes. I mean really, it's not that unusual, all kids do this but it is always so adorable.

Dad's Work Boots
Kids Ski Boots
Cousin Tristan's Slippers
Mommy's Runners
Wouldn't even get dressed before putting on his rubber boots(on the wrong feet) with his new favorite action figure Buzz Lightyear on them. "To infindy and deoned!"

Birthdays!!!

This is a bit of a back post but we finally got around to celebrating Thatchers 2nd birthday along with Landon's, it was a twofer. I had fun making the dino cake and although Thatcher did a repeat of last year, not liking or wanting to eat any cake, he did enjoy all the dino's and of course opening all the presents from everyone...what a spoiled kid! He especially loved his birthday hat, made by his cousin Gemma, and his Monkey card from Nana & Papa.

I'm so Lucky!

I was just having one of those Gratitude moments, i get them often. I was just thinking how blessed my life has been. I love my little boy to pieces, he's such a delight to be with and watch and I couldn't ask for a nicer and more wonderful husband. We are doing so well and anticipating the arrival of our baby girl.

My sister Cherea and sister in law Linda through me a very nice baby shower over the weekend, so many people came to support and celebrate it was wonderful. I'm grateful for all the friends I have and the people that love and support me. Landon, was overwhelmed by all things pink. Thatcher, has begone to break in some of the new stuffed animals for "baby sister" and I am feeling the pressure of organizing and getting ready. I know I have three months but we all know how quickly time sneaks up on you.

Thank you to everyone who made this weekend special and to everyone for being a part of my life, you are loved and appreciated.

Christmas Letter 2009

“Happy Birthday”! As Frosty the snow man would say. Well, another year has come and almost gone. We have had a lot of fun this year, and been blessed in many ways. I hope we all get the chance to take a moment and reflect on all the goodness in our lives; and on the true meaning of this holiday season, the birth and life of our Savior Jesus Christ.
Now for a verbal snapshot of life with the Lybbert’s in 2009. As you can imagine, a great part of our life revolves around our first, and for the next six months, only child, Thatcher. But, before I go into all the fun we have been having with Thatcher, let me give you a quick Mom and Dad update.
For church callings, I was called to be a teacher to the ten to eleven year olds at the beginning of the year. Briett has been serving as assistant camp director and as the young woman’s secretary. We have both been promoted from our nursery calling.
Briett, our friend Drashell, and I swam, biked, and ran in the Spudman Triathlon in Burley, Idaho, at the end of July this year. For the majority of the competitors there, it was an enjoyable sporting event, for me, however, it was a painful lesson on procrastination. We all lived however, and had lots of fun, especially after we got all the lactic acid out of our muscles.
We are expecting another child, and by “we” I mean Briettney; and by “expecting” I mean Briettney is sick and hasn’t felt good in over 12 weeks. She has been a pretty good sport though. We hope she starts feeling better soon or Thatcher may only get one biological sibling.
We were able to go to Europe this fall for a few weeks as a family, and that was alright, I guess. Just kidding! It was aaaaawwweeesome! Briett’s sister lives in Rahmstein, Germany, which also happens to be in the same area where I served a full time mission for the LDS Church for two years. We got to visit family, and see my mission. It was fun, and we both got to drive on the “Autobahn”, but the fastest I drove was about 80 mph when Briett was awake. We saw many castles, ate lots of German baked goods, chocolate, and malz bier. Yumm! Briett and I left Thatcher with her sister for three days while we went to Rome and spent three days wandering around mostly on foot. That had to be one of the highlights of our trip to Europe. We stood inside the Pantheon! We walked through the Vatican, toured St. Peters Basilica, stared up at the Sistine Chapel, and kissed on the Spanish steps. It was a ton of fun, but after three days, we were ready to get back and be with our little boy.
Now, for some of Thatcher’s firsts this year. He flew across the Atlantic Ocean and has been in four more countries than his Grandpa Lybbert, and all before the age of two! We had our first visit to the ER to sew Thatcher’s thumb nail back on after the hinge side of the door jam pinched it off. Ouch! “Thatch” started going to the Nursery at church this year, and the hardest part was getting him to leave at the end of church. “Mr. T” received his first buzz cut this summer, and I quickly followed by buzzing my hair; like son like father. The “Goober” celebrated his first birthday this year but could have cared less about his cake. Since then, however, Thatch has discovered the wholesome goodness of refined sugar and I don’t think there will be as much cake left over this next birthday. Since losing his thumb nail to the viscous jaws of the bathroom door jam, he has also lost one toe nail to Grandma’s big Maglite and gravity. Briett went off to girl’s camp this summer for three days and left me to break “Little T” of his most addictive substance habit to date, breast milk! But luckily, I have a highly effective twelve step program that he was able to complete in just three, long, days. “Thatchy” learned some very useful skills this year. One of the most useful of them being his awesome Kung Fu skills; which he has developed through months of repetitive viewing of “The Kung Fu Panda” starring Jack Black. He has been able to defend himself from all of his greatest foes (any cousin who is older or bigger than him) thanks to the aforementioned skills. He has also been able to hone his Kung Fu skills on all his cousins who are younger or smaller than him. Thatcher also likes to jump off anything he can climb on. We hope this behavior diminishes as his climbing skills improve! If Thatcher isn’t practicing his Kung Fu skills, or jumping off stuff, you are likely to find him trying to convince Mom or Dad to let him take another bath “hot tub” or eat some ice cream “ice ceam”. His favorite bed time story to date is “Everyone Poops”, we hope this book will expedite the potty training process. He has been talking up a storm the last couple of months. It has been a lot of fun to listen to him speak with Nana and Papa on the phone; another one of his favorite things to do. We are having a lot of fun being parents. It sure makes us more appreciative of all that our parents did for us that probably went unnoticed.
Well, we hope you all have a great Christmas and a Happy New Year. We love you all and are grateful to have you be a part of our lives. Love Landon, Briettney, Thatcher and ???
