It is a Fine Season for Joy to think of those We LOVE!
Christmas 2010
Merry Christmas Everybody!
It is that time again to share with you all what the Lybbert’s have been up to, and this year we spent most of it at home, yes, there was a few trips but we stayed in the west.
Of course, our most exciting news was in June with the birth of our second child Gretchen Anne named after my childhood best friend. She is such a cute little peanut and steals anyone’s heart with her smile and bright eye’s, especially her brothers, he has adored her from the beginning with his “ah, she’s so cute, she’s so tiny. I love her mom.” On occasion, he thinks his sister is kicking him or pulling his hair on purpose but mostly he tries to involve her in his games and hold her. Gretch is a high maintenance babe and not afraid to voice it, she loves lots of face time and to be held, and is close to crawling and sitting up on her own. Landon and I are competing for the first word of mama, or dada, you know who to root for.
Thatch’s “sis” or “sissy” is his “best friend” along with almost everyone else, especially those cartoon characters. It is no secret to those around that his favorite is Buzz Lightyear, whom he was for Halloween and every other day. He straps on his Buzz wings, runs up and down the halls jumps off his bed and the couches and with arms out stretched states “to infinity and beyond!” We love it when Buzz joins us for dinner Thatcher, is at another fun stage (minus the occasional colossal temper tantrum) he just says some really funny, cute things and gets so excited about everything. Landon was building a fire and blowing to get it going; he blew 3 times, each time the flames got bigger until it was really roaring. Thatcher, observing this said, “Dad, you’re like a Dragon!” Another time Landon squished his face into Thatcher’s car window and blew and Thatcher said, “Mom, I don’t like Dad’s footprint cheek on my window.” When Thatcher is mad, he calls you a “gut” as in pumpkin guts because he does not like them at all…very insulting.
We have been house sitting since September and will do so until June, we have been enjoying the 13 acres, 2 horses Misty and Fuego 3 mules Candy, Sandy and Mandy and all the wild life. Thatcher thinks, “Mandy is bumpy” when we ride her. Landon has enjoyed finding his inner Cowboy and can saddle up quick as anyone. Thatcher loves helping his dad feed the horses and finds the hay quite tasty himself, thanks uncle Dusty Landon after talking about it for years finally shot his first buck (8 pointer) with a bow, finding his motivation may have been the deer trail running through the back yard but that is strictly speculation…wink, wink. Looking forward to the summer sausage though, yum.
Landon also started his own construction business this year, Kodiak Concrete Lifting LLC and is having fun working with the people in the community and region.
We teach the 7/8 year olds at church and our favorite quote from one of the boys was during a word of wisdom lesson that beer was bad, he said “If I ever drink beer I don’t think I would like it because I’ve eaten hand sanitizer before.”
As for me, I spend most of my time being wife and mom and I love it! This fall I was able to travel to Rexburg and help sister Brie out with her 2nd baby and when I returned from that the next day sister Cherea had her 4th and I was able to help her. Mom and Dad now have 20 grand kids, Great Grandpa Lee now has 58 greats, and Great Grandpa Max has 22 greats. What a posterity.
As always, it was nice to have lots of family come to town throughout the year, from Germany, Canada and Idaho.
We love you all and pray you will have a magical Christmas as we ponder the miraculous birth of the Christ child and remember the great love he has for everyone.
Love,
Landon, Briettney, Thatcher & Gretchen Lybbert
